The series begins 2 years to the day that the Weeks family patriarch, Ed, died by suicide. The day might pass like any other, except Ed’s widow, Marla, decides she wants to bring back their tradition of ice cream sundaes on Sunday. When she realizes her son might be heading down the same path as his father, Marla decides that the only way to ease the financial burden of the farm is to turn her passion for ice cream into an actual business.

Perfect Sundays captures the journey of a family that digs its way out of economic ruin and emotional paralysis. The story is familiar to farmers, no doubt, but also to anyone who recognizes the internal battles of depression, and its devastating effects on a family. Set in the heart of rural America, this series makes universal the story of one farm family who knows they must keep trying despite it all. Now, they just have to agree on how.
