As creator and screenwriter, Jason Williamson, so aptly put, "ice cream will infuse this story about the mental health crisis in agriculture with hope." For this dairy farming family, ice cream is both a literal and figurative symbol of hope.

So, every audience member at a Perfect Sundays screening can enjoy our signature ice cream flavor, Perfect Sundays by Owowcow Creamery.

Owowcow Creamery took our vision of infusing hope through ice cream and made it a reality!

Owowcow crafts super premium ice cream from scratch daily using the finest local organic and natural ingredients that support local agriculture. In collaboration with their leadership team, we created a new ice cream flavor called ‘Perfect Sundays’ that reflects the old-school classic: hand-made vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, mapled walnuts, and a single strawberry on top.

We hope our signature ice cream is the cherry (or strawberry!) on top of your viewing experience.

The 'Perfect Sunday'

The iconic sunday

The iconic Sunday (Sundae) is a longstanding American tradition dating back to 1892 when church treasurer Chester Platt took Rev. John Scott to confer after Sunday worship at the Platt & Colt drugstore in downtown Ithaca, New York. On this particular Sunday, druggist Platt fancied up a simple dish by adding a candied cherry and some cherry syrup to two dishes of vanilla ice cream. They enjoyed the concoction so much they named it the Cherry Sunday and the treat was born. As the new dessert gained instant popularity, Platt and Colt tried to patent the name “Sunday,” but no avail. So, fruit-syrup manufacturers hedged their bets by changing the spelling to sundae.
