The Founder

Sam Goldberg

Founder and visionary Sam Goldberg has been dedicated to the beauty and the plight of farmers since 2016 when he produced SILO, a feature film that takes place over the course of one day on a farm experiencing the horrors of a grain entrapment. During the making of SILO, Sam and his team observed first-hand how our increasingly digital world that relies on machines to facilitate connection, came at a great cost to not only farming, but filmmaking, family and faith.

His relentless and infectious goal to thoughtfully educate and connect both rural audiences and those outside of agriculture to the emotional, physical and psychological costs of feeding the world, has resulted in extensive collaborations between city-based filmmakers and rural farmers. That goal has manifested into innovative partnerships between the film and agriculture industries, with strong connections fostered between mental health experts and storytellers.
